Does AutoMapa features data for trucks?

"Yes. AutoMapa has the necessary data for mapping routes in Poland for trucks for Android and iOS. The map contains data on tonnage restrictions, height of overpasses and tunnels, including those whose height has been measured with a laser rangefinder for non-normative journeys. Truck parameters can be defined in the program settings.

How does AutoMapa Traffic work?

AutoMapa Traffic is the first system in Poland to calculate routes based on current traffic information. The data collected over the years, combined with our intelligent algorithms, allowed us to create the most accurate route calculation tool. It allows us to know where there has been an accident, non-working traffic lights or a sudden deterioration in road conditions. Every minute we analyse signals from nearly 200,000 vehicles driving across Poland and every two minutes they are sent to every AutoMapa connected to the Internet, thanks to which our users get to their destination reliably and quickly.

Does the map of Europe include a map of Poland?

Yes. AutoMapa Europe with a map of Europe contains exactly the same map of Poland offered by the AutoMapa Polska package. AutoMapa Europe is AutoMapa Polska extended with maps of other European countries based on data provided by the HERE company.

How much data does AutoMapa download while driving?

Very little. Data transfer is so optimised that in a typical application its size is a negligible fraction compared to the limits in subscriber packages offfered by mobile operators. A typical data exchange cycle is within the following ranges:

Data transfer to the server: 5-20 kB/h
downloading data from the server: 50-300 kB/h

The amount of data depends on the density of the road network in the area.

If there was an interruption in the use of Traffic data, about 50-250 kB of one-time data download should be added to the above cycle when connecting to the server for the first time after such an interruption.

What area does the map of Europe cover?

AutoMapa Europe includes the latest European data provided byHERE and original maps of Poland.

The map in AutoMapa for Windows does not cover Russia, Turkey, Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores, Svalbard, Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Jan Mayen Island, among others. AutoMapa for Android and iOS supports an enlarged map area that includes the European part of Russia, Turkey, Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores, Cyprus, Iceland, Faroe Islands.

How do I change my MapCloud account password?

You can change your AutoMapa user account password by logging in to your MapCloud account at mapcloud.automapa.pl. After logging in, you should:

Click the name of the account,
Select"Change password" from the contextual menu,
Fill out the form with the old password and the new one twice,
Click the"Change" button.

How do I change my payment card information for my MapCloud subscription?

If you change the number of the card from which you want to charge funds for your MapCloud subscription, at mapcloud.automapa.co.uk you should:

Log in to your MapCloud account,
From the"My subscriptions" table, select the subscription for which you want to change the card data,
On the subscription details page, click the"Update payment details" button,
In the form that appears, enter the data of the new payment card (number, expiration date, CVC/CVV code),
Approve the change by clicking the"Confirm pre-authorization" button.

How do I delete my MapCloud account?

You can delete your AutoMapa user account by logging in to your MapCloud account at mapcloud.automapa.pl. After logging in, you should:

Click the name of the account,
Select"Account Settings" from the contextual menu,
Click the"Delete account" button.

How to cancel a subscription in MapCloud?

The MapCloud subscription, which was enabled at www.automapa.pl/kup/plan, can be canceled in two ways.

Method 1:

In your email account, you should find a message with the subject line"Your new AutoMapa is ready to go!" or "Welcome to AutoMapa navigation users", which was sent during subscription activation in MapCloud.
In the first sentence of the footer of the message, the content of which is"You can cancel your subscription by logging into your MapCloud account or by clicking on the link." click the "link"link.

Method 2:

Log in to your MapCloud account in the AutoMapa user panel, which is available at mapcloud.automapa.pl.
From the"My subscriptions" table, select the subscription you want to cancel.
In the subscription details, click the"Cancel Subscription" button.
After cancelling the subscription, its status will change to"Inactive", but you will be able to use navigation functions in AutoMapa until this service expires.

How do I download the version from ANDROID AUTO?

To use AutoMapa navigation integrated with Android Auto support, you need to download navigation version 6.4.2 or later.

How do I read my licence number?

The licence number can be read by going to: Options (the gear icon) >Buy/update >License number. If you have entered an email address in the software, once you have purchased a licence, the licence number will be sent to the address you entered.

Can a licence be transferred from Windows or iOS to Android?

To transfer the use of AutoMapa from the iOS version to the Android version, please contact Pomoc@AutoMapa.pl, where you will obtain additional information. For the Windows version, just click the automapa.pl/windows link.

Is it possible to download the map using a computer?

YesTo do this, follow these steps:

download the program installation file from the AutoMapa website and save it on your computer in the directory of your choice,
download the map file from the AutoMapa website to the same directory,
After downloading, unzip the downloaded archive with the map, e.g. using 7-zip or by right-clicking on it and selecting Extract all,
connect the device to your computer, or insert the card on which you want to install the map into the card reader,
Open My Computer/Computer and select the connected device or removable drive of the memory card,
Copy the downloaded installation file (APK) to your device memory or memory card,
In the main directory of your device memory or memory card, create directory Android/obb/pl.aqurat.automapa/AutoMapa, and in it subdirectory Maps,
Copythe previously unzipped map folder (Poland or Europe),to the Maps folder,
Disconnect the device or insert the card from the reader into it, connect to the internet,
launch File Explorer on your device, go to the location where you copied the installation file, run it and install it,
After installation, open AutoMapa,
if your device has two data memory storages, in the map selection window, select the one where it says Contains maps,
after the map has been loaded correctly, a message will be generated:"Your collection of navigators empty. Go to the update window to download the navigation voices". Confirm this action by clicking OK and download at least one navigator voice,
Go to: Options > Buy / Update > License Number and enter your license number,
the licence should be registered.

How do I obtain a VAT invoice for purchasing AutoMapa from Google Play?

The invoice can be generated in the month following the date of purchase.

In order to receive a VAT invoice for the purchase of AutoMapa in Google Play, you need to:

Log in to your account at payments.google.com.
Click on"Activity" on the left hand side.
Select the order in question.
Click on"Download VAT invoice".
Google Play may ask you to add your full address if you haven't added it before.

After this operation, the invoice will be issued.

NOTE:

Make sure you have entered the correct details before you make the purchase, as it will not be possible to change your details after the transaction has taken place.

Can I transfer a licence from Android or Windows to iOS?

On which iOS devices can I use AutoMapa?

You can use AutoMapa on iOS devices in the version that is available in the application description in the store AppStore. Devices without GPS, will not allow navigation.

Where can I find my licence number?

You can read the license number by going to: Options (pinwheel) > Licenses > License. However, if you purchase a Subscription from the AppStore, such a number will not be displayed. Instead, the message"Subscription" will be visible.

You can manage your subscriptions in the AppStore by going to System Settings > Account > Subscriptions.

How do I obtain a VAT invoice for purchasing AutoMapa from the AppStore?

When you purchase a time-based licence, you will automatically receive an email from Apple within 24 hours with a VAT invoice.

You will receive the message to your Apple ID email.

Make sure you have entered the correct details before you make the purchase, as it will not be possible to change your details after the transaction has taken place.

Rules of sale

In the case of OEM units, AutoMapa is factory-registered and ready to use at the time of purchase. Unless stated otherwise on the package, the update availability period is calculated as 12 months from the purchase date of such a unit. If the expiry date is questionable, please contact us.

When the device has Internet access, the first time it is launched AutoMapa may ask for the licence number to complete the registration process.

The purchase of an update access extends the access to updates and the corresponding maps for another 12 or 24 months, starting from the expiry date of the previous update.

Please note that the renewal period for the access to the update runs from the moment the right expires, not from the date of the purchase of the update. However, if your upgrade right expired more than a year ago, you will have one month of upgrade right (calculated from the date of purchase) if you buy the one-year extension, or 13 months if you buy the two-year extension.

The purchase of a new update access can be made on condition that the interval between the expiry of the licence or the previous update access was less than 24 months. After this period, a new licence can be purchased on preferential terms:

The purchase of an upgrade changes the type of licence you have, without changing the expiry date of your access to the upgrade.

The condition for the purchase of both upgrade and update access is entering the AutoMapa licence number and the email address used for registration.

How to install AutoMapa?

If AutoMapa is purchased together with a device, when AutoMapa is delivered preinstalled on a memory card, the installation is performed automatically the first time the memory card is inserted in the navigation device.

Where is the licence number?

Regardless of the form of purchase of AutoMapa, the 10-digit licence number should be sticked on the memory card packaging or included in the licence card supplied in the package.

After registering AutoMapa, the licence number is additionally saved in electronic form in the"AutoMapa.lic" text file in the AutoMapa EU/Maps/[map file] directory.

Regardless of the form of purchase, the licence number should be carefully saved - it is required when verifying the AutoMapa licence legality, registering the maps, downloading the software and map updates. It also allows for using additional services, such as Miplo.pl.

What rights do I have with the licence?

The licence makes it possible for you to use AutoMapa without any time limit on a device with Windows, Windows Mobile* or Windows CE system. You may use the software version and the maps received at purchase. To upgrade the software and maps to the latest version, you need active upgrade access.

*not applicable to Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile.

What is access to updates?

Access to the update entitles the user to download map and software updates from the AutoMapa.pl website, by entering AutoMapa >Download > . Windows.

Unless otherwise stated on the packaging, when you buy a licence, you get 12 months of access to updates at the same time. Once the update access period has expired, you can continue to use the last downloaded version of the software and maps. However, you lose the right to download subsequent updates.

The access to the upgrade can be extended at one of our authorised resellers, whose list we present on AutoMapa.pl after entering AutoMapa >Buy >Windows.

Map updates are released at least 4 times a year.

How does access to updates work?

By purchasing the access to the upgrade, you can download and install the AutoMapa software and navigation map upgrades for the subsequent 12 or 24 months, counting from the expiry of the previous upgrade. Please note that the update access renewal period runs from the expiry of the right, and not from the date of the update purchase. However, if the right to update has expired more than one year ago, you will have one month of update entitlement from the purchase date if you purchase the one-year extension, or 13 months if you purchase the two-year extension.

In the event that the discontinuity in the validity of the update access is longer than 24 months, it will not be possible to renew it.

For licences whose access to the update expired at least 24 months ago, it is possible to purchase a new licence once at preferential conditions:

Example: Jan Kowalski bought a navigation device with AutoMapa and April 2016 maps installed on April 15, 2016. This license had a standard 12-month access to updates, so its expiration date was 15.04.2017. On that day, Mr. Kowalski was able to update the program and maps for the last time. He took advantage of this opportunity and, just before the update access expired, downloaded the newer map and program then available. Four months later, on 15/08/2017, Mr. Kowalski decided to purchase new update access for an additional 12 months. Since the time of the purchased new update access is counted from the expiration of the previous one, the new update access is valid until 15.04.2018. (the expiration date of the previous one is 15.04.2017 + 12 months). If Mr. Kowlaski does not choose to renew his update access again after this date, he will not be able to download new versions of maps and the program published after 15.04.2017, but will still be able to use the version published before 15.04.2017 indefinitely.

I cannot download the installer file or it is corrupted. What should I do?

If you have problems downloading the file from our website, we recommend:

use a download-assist program, such as Free Download Manager, or download the file using another web browser, such as Opera, Firefox,
if the file has not downloaded completely or is corrupted, please delete it, clear the temporary internet files and download the file again.

I cannot register a map during installation. What should I do?

There may be several reasons for this, including:

mistake when entering the licence number:

Please note the most common mistakes in numbers and letters: 0/O/Q, 1/i/L, 2/Z,

3/8/B, 5/S, 6/G, N/H. It is also a common mistake to swap the order of two consecutive characters. In all the codes we use, it does not matter whether you enter lower or upper case letters.

change of device or memory card:

The license is always assigned to a single, specific SD card, device or PC. Therefore, please always update AutoMapa on exactly the same device as previously. If the license cannot be registered after being assigned to a device, try registering it to the card and vice versa.

change of the device firmware, or device repair:

If, after updating the firmware or after the device has been in a repair service, the licence cannot be registered, please contact us. In this case, the identification number of the device changes and it is necessary to unlock the licence.

If the user enters exactly the same data throughout the entire period of use, (a maximum of once every 6 months) an automatic unblocking will take place in the event of a device change. If you need to transfer your licence in advance, please contact the technical support department.

How to register AutoMapa?

Before the first use, you need to register your map. Registration assigns the map to a specific device or memory card, and only on that device (or memory card) will enable the map to work.

If you purchase AutoMapa together with a PND device (dedicated only for navigation, e.g. BLOW, NavRoad, MODECOM), AutoMapa is most often preinstalled and registered to the memory card supplied with the unit. In such a case, simply insert the memory card into the navigation device and after a while AutoMapa should be ready for use without the need for the user to register it manually.

If the map has not been registered before, you need to register it yourself.

If your navigation device has a data transfer module, then when you start AutoMapa for the first time, the app will automatically offer to perform registration and establish a connection to the Internet, and then connect to the AutoMapa registration server.

For a navigation device without an integrated data transfer module, map registration requires a PC with an integrated memory card reader or an ActiveSync connection between the PC and the navigation device.

You can check the expiry date of access to updates on the dedicated page.

The check requires the licence number and the email address to which the registration was made.

Note! If AutoMapa was purchased in a navigation unit together with the device and the registration was performed by the manufacturer, you can check the email address to which the registration was performed by selecting Menu >Help and info >About in AutoMapa.

If you have any doubts regarding the expiry date of your licence, please contact our support.

The email address used during licence registration can be changed during the next registration of a new map version or if you need to re-register an already used map version. To do this, simply enter your new email address in the form during map registration.

We recommend that you visit our website www.AutoMapa.pl and go to AutoMapa >Download >Windows and if a newer version is already available, you can install it according to the instructions in the video tutorial.

How do I transfer a licence to another device?

The AutoMapa licence allows you to use the software and the maps on a single device. Registration binds the licence number to the device where AutoMapa is installed: a PC, a portable device or a card. If the map is installed and registered to an SD card, it is possible to transfer AutoMapa to another device with the same operating system.

If the user has been registering it with the same email address and user name since the first registration, every 6 months our system enables automatic unlocking of the licence to transfer it to another device. You do not need to contact support. It is possible to unlock a licence for the same system platform by yourself, using the form available at automapa.pl/reset.

The minimum requirements for correct operation of AutoMapa on a navigation device are:

touch screen
Windows operating system excluding Windows Phone
SD card slot or internal drive

AutoMapa will not work from a CD/DVD.

Can AutoMapa on an SD card be used in another device?

AutoMapa assigned to the memory card will work on another device with the same operating system. If the system is different, you will have to reset the licence or contact us.

What GPS receivers is AutoMapa compatible with?

For correct/full operation, AutoMapa requires a connection to a GPS device which meets the following conditions:

connection to a computer via one of the COM ports compatibility with the standard NMEA 0183 GPS message set: GSA, GGA, GSA, RMC or one of the following simplified sets:

GSA, GGA
GSA, RMC
GGA, VTG
GGA, RMC

In some units, AutoMapa may not show e.g. altitude, but this is of no importance for car navigation.

What are the correct GPS settings for my device?

Below is a list of GPS settings for different models of mobile devices. For most navigation devices, all settings should appear automatically. If, despite this, your device cannot find a signal, we recommend that you disable the Auto setting and manually enter the settings below.

The ports in brackets (for Windows Mobile devices) should be set in Start > Settings > System >[GPS/ExternalGPS].

Why is there no GPS signal on my computer?

A common reason is that the GPS receiver is assigned to a very high COM port number.

This can usually be changed by completing the steps below:

right-click the mouse and select My Computer/Computer>Properties.
select the Devices tab.
select Device Manager.
select COM and LPT ports.

Double-click to open Properties:

select Port Settings, then Advanced > COM Port Number and set COM 11 (this is an emulation of non-existent COM ports).
then connect the receiver. The signal should already be detected.

If the computer cannot change the port number, it can be done by modifying the gps.settings file in the AutoMapa EU/Profiles/[directory of the currently used profile]/Settings Files file.

You can find the following lines there:

Port=[COM port number].

LastUsedPort=[last detected port, 255 means not detected yet].

BaudRate=[baud rate].

Autostart=[0/1 whether to start automatically].

Autodetect=[0/1 whether to be automatically detected].

AutodetectMinPort=[range of ports searched, from].

AutodetectMaxPort=[range of ports searched, from].

If your device operates on port 18, at 14400 baud rate, and you want the GPS to be activated automatically when AutoMapa starts, change the following lines:

Port=18

BaudRate=14400

Autostart=1

Why does the GPS position not match the position in the field?

There may be several reasons for this:

Signal delay.

A GPS receiver usually provides a GPS position every 1 second. When AutoMapa uses that position, it is already 0.5 second "old" on average. Preparing and displaying the image takes another fraction of a second, and the user registers the image consciously after another approx. 0.3 sec. Together, this may result in a position delay of several dozen metres at typical speed.

If you find this effect troublesome, such as on older slower hardware, you can enable Menu > Settings > GPS > Compensate delay o and activate it by checking'include showing position'.

GPS accuracy.

In ideal conditions, GPS provides readings accurate to within a few metres. However, in forest areas, between tall buildings and other obstacles the error increases to as much as several dozen metres.

Map accuracy

The accuracy of maps in cities reaches 1-2m. However, there may be places where the accuracy is lower, e.g. due to reconstruction.

If, when all these errors overlap, the GPS position is too far from the road network, AutoMapa stops "drawing" the position to the road network. Programs with low-precision maps with sparse road network often draw the GPS point by force, even if the error is very large.

This gives an apparent impression of precision (the GPS point sticks rigidly to the road network), but can lead to serious navigation errors with a dense road network.

If you have noticed any inaccuracies on the maps - be sure to report them to us. We will be happy to correct them!

How to backup AutoMapa?

The AutoMapa licence permits 2 backup copies.

To do so, copy the entire contents of the memory card on which AutoMapa is installed to any memory carrier, computer, memory card, etc. If the program is damaged, we recommend formatting the memory card and copying the backup copy onto it.

NOTE: If a licence is assigned to an SD card, such a backup will only work on one, originally registered memory card.

If a licence is assigned to a device, such a backup will work on any memory card in the originally registered device.

How do I change my user data?

You may only change your data yourself.

To edit your data you need to:

connect the memory card with AutoMapa installed to the computer;
run the AutoMapa installer on the computer;
select advanced installation in the installer;
go through the subsequent installation windows without changing any settings;
in the registration window, uncheck the "Install" option, leaving only "Register" checked;
enter the number of your licence and your new personal data (name, surname, email address).

With which devices does AutoMapa work?

(*) - AutoMapa does not support the built-in GPS sensor available on some Windows 8 and 10 devices.

AutoMapa manufacturers guarantee the correct operation of the current and future software versions only on devices with valid AutoMapa certification. If you decide to select a different device, before purchasing it, we recommend contacting its manufacturer or supplier to check their plans to obtain the AutoMapa compatibility certificate.

Can I install AutoMapa on a PC and a portable device at the same time?

One AutoMapa license can be used only on one hardware platform. This means that if you use AutoMapa on a portable device, you will not be able to install it on a PC and vice versa.
