AutoMapa handbook: Lane Assistant

2021-03-19

Do you know what makes it easier to drive and get to your destination flawlessly?

Everybody knows that a good assistant is an invaluable treasure. And when it additionally unnoticeably guides you in making decisions, taking the best route regardless of the type of route and number of available exits, then it must be an AutoMapa treasure, i.e. the Lane Assistant, called APR function.

How does APR work?

With this function, AutoMapa in navigation mode clearly indicates which lanes to choose in order to smoothly negotiate even the largest crossroads and turnouts or properly exit a difficult roundabout. It also takes into account which lane is best for us, taking into account subsequent manoeuvres on the route (e.g. turning right from the right lane and immediately turning left from the left lane).

AutoMapa, Lane Assistant

AutoMapa Lane Assistant operates both in Poland and throughout Europe. The function is a great help while driving in a crowded city, where a wrong lane positioning precludes a smooth turn into one's own route and on multi-lane motorways with numerous junctions, where a wrong exit decision costs many kilometres... The assistant saves drivers from getting lost, showing in advance which lane to take to reach the destination.

APR is enabled by default in AutoMapa navigation. You can change it by going to Options (cog wheel) -> Settings -> Visible items -> Lane Guidance. However, we strongly recommend that you leave the default setting and use this AutoMapa assistance.

The function has been recognised (on the company's Facebook) by drivers who have been using navigation for years as one of the best ones that AutoMapa offers to drivers, right next to the Signs and Route Types functions.
